Mel Rivera remembered - He left the field too soon, July 13, 2020. (57 years young)
It is with deep sadness that announce to our League the passing of one within our community. Mel Rivera passed away from complications associated with the COVID-19 virus. We remember Mel here for all to read as well as in his hearts and minds, recalling the fond memories of a man who so loved to the softball leagues and its players. Mel played in many different leagues and teams in Rockland County. When he wasn't playing, he could be found at a field - usually with his brother in-law MRod, watching other teams play.
Mel spent his final hours surrounded by his family. He passed away shortly before 6 PM. Some of his last words were, he asked that he simply be remembered as his was on the field and in life, not how is was in the end.
Keep hitting 'em out on the your new field of dreams - Forever Remembered.
