Week 15

Division A/B

We are now through week 15 and B's Nest remains in sole possession of the top spot in the top division of League. Taking matters into their own hands,  the B-Boys shut down the mighty Elks, who had been increíble past 5 weeks. With only 3 weeks left, it appears only B's Nest is mathematically a lock to fill one of the 4 spots in the A Division.

Sign Creation, by virtue of a forfeit and the All American Vanway kep things close with victories of their own.  The Thunder remain adamant that the last spot for the A Division playoffs is theirs. Many teams still in contention.

All American Vanway moving wins in walk off fashion versus the stubborn and game Mustangs 11-10.  Key hits him from All American by Josh Warren and Paul Schnalzer. The star of the show for the Movers was Krishna pitching the distance and providing the game winning walk off homerun.

The Eagles who always play the Thunder tough got themselves back into the game in the bottom of the seventh inning via a couple of rare thunder errors, a couple of walks and a couple of timely hits. They scored 3 runs to come within a run of tying the game up but Danny Clemente bore down and picked his team up holding them scoreless after that. Thunder scored 1 in the eight and 1 in the 9th for a 12-9 win. Leading hitters were Phil Valenza JR 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs Izzy Adorno also going 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs with Joe Herman collecting 3 hits also. Ray Reyes with a 2 hit 2 RBI day along with Tom Guarino and Danny Clemente with 2 hits. Matt Perdue had an early HR to left center starting a 4 run rally. For the Eagles, Neil M was 3-5, 3 Rbi, and tough luck losing pitcher Bobby M was 3-4, walk 2 Rbi.  Steve V was 2-5, Rbi and Robert C was 2-4, walk, Rbi.

20/20 Carpet 11 Saloon 10: 20/20 was down 8-0, but came back to tie it up in the 8th , Saloon went up by 2 and 20/20 scored 3 in the 9th to win in walk off fashion.

Division C/D

Joe & Joe remain a top the junior division standing with a win over the Mavericks.  The Angels keep pace knotching a convincing win over those persistent Rockhounds.  It most be getting discouraging for the Rockhounds, who just can't seem to break the schnide and put a single run on the board all season. Maybe next week boys.

After two disappointing games that Knights should have won but felled short, this time the Knights hold off the Dodgers winning 7-6. With the score tied at 2 after one, in the bottom of the 2nd, the Knights launch some booming projectiles for 4 runs. Then the Dodgers charge back with three in top of 4th  to close within 6-5. There were many hot potato plays that affected the game score. Knights playing with 9 vs 11 for Dodgers left 9 RISP which could have blown the game open. But the Dodger defense kept the game interesting and close. Bottom of 6th Knights got their an important run and top of 7th Dodgers got it back for Knights 7-6 lead. Knights Bobby Bodnar kept the Dodgers off balance most of the game, but became target practice with shot coming at him. Top of the 9th was a nail biter. Dodgers had tying runners  at 1st and 3rd  with one out. Bobby hooked a key strikeout and then got next Dodger to loft a fly for the win. Knights hitting stars was Billy Alter, Larry and Mitch Saul and Dave Malthas and Shawn.

Panthers and Deadheads had another great game with the Panthers coming on top 10-9 this time.

The game was a seesaw battle with the Deadheads scoring first and the Panthers coming back to the take the lead 2 to 1 in the first with some key hits from top of the order. The Panthers continued to build their lead and were up 9 to 4 in the 7th when the Deadheads put up 5 runs over the next two innings to tie the game  going into the bottom on the 9th. With a clutch hit by Jason with two Panthers on base, put the game away 10-9 with Ziggy scoring from second in dramatic style.  Key plays Mark M throwing out a running at home, Ray with a couple of diving plays at third, Mark W and Basil teaming up for a few DP and of course the continued strong pitching battery of Tom and Mikey.  Great game and everyone came out without an injury.
