Gilgert Santana pitch a terrific 8 inns before yielding to Manager/Player Bert Brucelis for the easy Save; he even went 1-3, Sac, 2 RBI and the 1 inning pitching. Look at this -- Howie Farwell (age 66 and still going strong while not on the winter snowcaps) had his weekly hit.
The Eagles played good defense led by 3B Kenny Malm, but were weak at he bat with 8 hits. James Valenza was 2-3, Davin Rosenblatt was 1-3, walk, and Neil Murphy had the lone RBI. The Eagles fell to 3-4, but have played 3 of the 4 " A" teams (0-3)
Division II
Thhhhhhhhhhhhe DEADHEADS WIN!
Break up the Deadheads. Lol Heads continue to roll, edging out the Mavs in the bottom of the 9th. The victory extends our longest ( only) winning streak of the season, putting us in sole possession of third place.
This one was far from easy as the Mavs took a three run lead, thanks to the second bomb of the day by Morgan, into the bottom of the 9th. Morgan, we’re glad your back is better but we demand that the league check you for Steroids. Lmao.
The Heads, in the meantime had barely hit anything to the outfield all day, but managed to string together enough singles and defensive plays to keep the game close. After scoring one run in the bottom of the 9th, winning Pitcher, Steve J. helped his cause by clearing the bases with the game winning walk off hit. On the play the Maverick Left fielder went down, hurt. We hope he’s feeling better and not seriously hurt.
Up next- the UNDEFEATED Blazers. We played them tough last time. The game got heated and chippy. Let’s have a nice clean game this time, gentlemen.
Will the Deadheads continue to find their Championship legs in the quest for a three-peat as Division Champs or will they run into a Blazers’ buzzsaw? Stay tuned. Good luck Blazers.
