Week 13 - July 31st Game Summaries

Division I.

[Report provided by the legendary Eagles Field Reporter, ABasso]: Eye Adventure (A team) kept up its winning ways and won over the Eagles (B team), 18 - 1. The Eyes scored 18 runs by pounding out 24 hits, including Home Runs by Gregg Donohue and Wayne Weiner. Gregg was 4 for 4, 3 runs, 1 Rbi;  Wayne, the 'I Man" was 3 for 4, 2 runs, 3 Rbi.   Veteran Pitcher John Gorglione handled the Birds giving up 1 run, 7 hits, no walks and induced 3 Double Plays by the smooth fielding Eyes. Other Eye Adventure gem hitters were number #21 (sorry name not gotten), 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 Rbi, and John Gorglione 2 hits, 3 Rbi.  The Eagles lone bright spot was SS Mike Rodrigues 1-3, Rbi, and handled many EA bullet ground balls. Opps, .... two veteran EA players were hitless, names withheld by Management !

Division II

[Game reporting provided by the roving DH Field Reporter - ME]:  Thhhhhhhhhhe Deadheads WIIIN! Heads continue to roll (6-3 in last 9) toward playoffs,having dismantled the Mavs, securing 3rd place in the process. After falling behind 7-0 early, the Heads outscored the Mavs 23-4 to put this one away .   Eric G.(the Cardiac kid), four weeks removed from a heart attack,led the comeback (3-5, triple,4 RBI) with a base clearing triple. Mike C. did not play but that didn’t stop him (5-5,2 double, triple,H.R,7 RBI) from hitting for the cycle.Lmao.   In all, the Heads banged out 30 hits ,with all 13 getting at least one hit and 12 getting RBI’s. NEDWARD  went 3-5,2 doubles,triple,2RBI( hitting the top of the fence twice.Tony (4-5, double,2RBI),Rok(3-4,sac fly,,RBI),and Val(4-4,2RBI) played major roles in the assault.  Tony (Mariano) was masterful in relief.   Lee,Rok,Val,Tom and Nedward made great defensive plays to thwart several threats.  Great team effort!
   Next week’s challenge- 3rd and final attempt to top our new rivals, the Blazers ( in the regular season.) Good luck Blazers.  As for the Mavs- You have your chance for revenge when we face off in the first round of the playoffs in two weeks. Good luck!
