WEEK 9 - June 9th

Field reporting on games from June 9th were delayed.

Division 2:

[Eagles soar past ODB 25-17 - Basso Wire Services Reporting]: The Eagle Flight-men came on as strong as the western winds. An 11 run second inning outburst started to put this game out of reach. The Birds lead 24-6 after 5 inns. They totaled 29 hits and 7 walks, scoring all but 1 run in the first 5 inns.

Bobby M tossed 6 inns for the win before tiring after 6 inns, and George V picked up the save there-after. George led the Birds' hitting attack going 5-6, 4 rbi.  Flash Wilkey blasted a 3-run dinger and went 4-4, 5 runs, 2 BB, 5 rbi. Also, with 4 hits was Brian U, and 3 rbi. 3-hit agents were Bobby M, 2 rbi, and Joe R, 2 rbi. Very note-worthy was Ed Kelly, out of action for over a year, has gone 7 for 10 and a BB since his return. And the 10th man in the lineup, Charlie F, C, was 2-5, 3 runs, BB, 3 rbi.

Defensively, the Eagles turned over 2 DPs, and were in awe as SS Wilkey made a leaping, diving, one hand catch of a screaming liner heading up the middle.

The Skipper then went to playing back up players' positions so that in case of limited player counts in the future, the Eagles had multiple player personnel able to play multiple positions. Needless to say, the 6 errors were not too pleasing. 

In wrapping up the hit squad, Chis P, Ed K, Craig V, Flip, and Charlie chipped in with 2 hits each

[Deadheads rolls 28-13 over. Panthers - Elba E-Wire Reporting]: Thhhhhhhe DEADHEADS WIN! Heads roll to 3rd straight,taming Panthers to avenge early season loss.
 NEDward,the monster put one in the dog park beyond the field. Brandon, the beast just missed one. Adam S. and Mike C. get back in the groove. Larry G. went 5-5.  Tom P. nails down another “W”.  The rest of the Heads all contributed with multiple hits.  Thanks Panthers for a fun game.
