Winning Pitcher George V shutdown the last 6 batters over the last 2 inns, to lead his High-Flying Birds over these rugged 'Boys. George continues to swing a hot bat, going 2-5, single, double, rbi. Also, defensively he snarled in 2 screaming liners back to the box with a fast glove draw that was Bing-bang.
The 2 leading Stars of the Game go to Chris P was 3-4, 2 runs, walk, 2 rbi, and Mike Defilippis was 3-4 after returning to the Eagles from his Traveling Son team's circuit season that recently ended, and enabled the Skipper to call him up. Wilkey the SS Flash had a bases loaded triple in the 3rd inn to enable the Eagles to post 5 runs. The Eagles now head to Birdway, ME for a well-deserved mini vacation. Sun, great northern worms, slow moving field mice, cool crisp temps, and Film-work to prepare for the upcoming playoffs are the agenda. Daily 10-mile flights over the ocean with their young will keep these High-fliers to remain conditioned, and bring home some fresh fish, via Eagle fish dives.
