DIVISION 2 Game Recaps

[ABasso Reporting]: The Eagles got off to a good Round 2 start besting the Mavericks. The bats were warm today and Eagle' hot, led by Chris Pellegrinelli  Grand Slam (his 2nd in last 2 games), a beauty to watch it clear the fence

The Birds are really pounding the ball after the Skipper read to the team the riot act and how to beat the pitcher. All 13 players had a hit, a first in the stoic Eagle history.

Austin Kelly was 5-5, 4 runs (but what an adventure to watch him run), 2 rbi. One at bat, he fouled off 5 pitches with the count 3-2 to warm up, then bingo, a hit, some strategy, hey ! Joining him were Brian Uhingler 4-5, 3 runs, 2 rbi, and George Vansise at 4 - 5, 5 runs, 1 rbi

Pitching, Iron man and now Rubber Arm George Vansise, moved back to spot 5, and was torrid. But, on the mound he was red hot. He threw 107 pitches in 6 inns work, and lowered his Runs Per Game to 8.88 (RPG is runs earned and unearned combined)

Other highlights were Charlie Fisher moved back to his comfortable spot, 3 - 4, 2 runs, 3 rbi; Craig Vansise had a great basket catch, but caused the Skipper to have heart perpetrations; Vic Grullen makes his pitching debut, 1 run, 1 inn, and hits 3 - 4, 2 runs, rbi; Craig Vansise moving his BA up; last 5 games, raised it 250 points.
