Week 7 (June 7) Game Summaries - Pending Updates

Division 2

The struggling Eagles found a way to gut-out a come from behind win over the iron-clad Knights by 5. Trailing 9-7 through 6, the Birds flew in 4 runs in 7th and 5 runs in 8th. Stellar pitching from veteran hawk-arm Elvis Minaya kept the game close before the Eagles got him the runs to put the game away. You could hear the baby-birds chipping above for him. 

Wilkin had an unbelievable game, 5 for 5, 6 rbi and a 2-run dinger. Not to be outdone, Billy Robinson the 1B-Scoper ran the 4's , 4 for 4, 4 runs, 4 rbi and 4 1B short hop scoops for outs. Several Eagles came through like Brian Uhlinger, 4 for 5, 4 runs, rbi; Chris Pellegrinelli 4 for 5, 4 runs, 2 rbi, Mike Leote 3 for 4, run, and Jeff Lieberman (off the J-E-train) was 2 for 4, run (5 hits in last 2 games). [Reporting from the King of Swing, ABasso News Services in the field]

Heads tame Panthers  in a wild one, rolling to second straight victory and first home win of the season. The hard hitting Cats got off to a quick 7-0 lead in the top of the first. Rather than folding and phoning in it, the Heads fought back and answered with 7 of their own to tie it, in the bottom of the frame.  The contest remained a seesaw battle throughout the day, with the Heads taking the lead and holding on with some truly spectacular defensive plays , late in the game, to preserve a well  earned “ W”.
