IN MEMORIAM TO THOSE MEMBERS OF OUR LEAGUE FAMILY THAT ARE NO LONGER WITH US
It is with deep sadness that the League announces the passing of several of its players, teammates and friends. I know that each of us extends our condolences to their families and their closest friends in the league. The Hank Heitner Rockland Senior Softball is a community and when one grieves, we all grieve.
Please remember our teammates and friends on opening day with a moment of silence. Honor their memory and love of the game by playing these games for the fun and safety and consideration of others as the priority. The short life we lead and enjoy with each other is bigger than any game. Many of us have shared memorable moments with each of these individuals over the years and let's help those memories and what they brought to our league live on forever.
- Hank Heitner (League Founder, Commissioner until 2015, Dodger's, Friend) - Passed away on January 22, 2023 at the grand age of 84. A gentleman who stood out among gentlemen. Click this link for more comments on Hank.
- Hank started this league some 30-plus years ago. His goal was to provide a friendly and fun league for players over 35, allowing them to continue playing the game they enjoy as they advance into the prime of life. His vision lives on today as the league has grown and evolved over time into one of the favorite leagues in the surrounding Rockland County area.
